EV Compass began as a question, not a brief: what if an electric vehicle never asked you to plan your life around it? Across the EV ownership experience, range anxiety has quietly become the invisible passenger in every driver's day — a battery percentage deciding where they can go, what they can do, and who they can see. EV Compass imagines a charging app that refuses that trade, one where getting where you're going never depends on where you can plug in.

A Life Centered Around Charging

Most EV charging apps solve a logistics problem — nearest plug, fastest charge, cheapest rate — while leaving the emotional one untouched: the quiet dread of a life slowly rerouted around a battery icon. The challenge was to design an experience where an EV owner's calendar stayed theirs — where charging adapted to a life, instead of quietly rewriting it.

Starting with the Person

Instead of starting from the map, EV Compass starts from the calendar — surfacing charging stations near the places a driver already wants to be, whether that's a dinner reservation, a trailhead, or a friend's house, rather than bending their plans around the nearest plug. Charging becomes a quiet backdrop to a life already in motion, not the thing directing it.

A Companion, Not Just a Compass

EV Compass was designed to feel less like a navigation tool and more like a personal assistant who happens to know where the chargers are — one that understands a driver's life first and their battery second. It doesn't just point toward the nearest plug; it moves with you, learning the rhythm of where you already go and quietly making sure a charge is waiting when you arrive.
